Another great racing season in the books… The Comprent Motor Sports team had a very successful 2019 racing year at the track and in the shop. A big thanks to all of our drivers, customers, crew & shop staff for your continued dedication and support.
Spec Racer Ford Gen3
Clay Russell won Back to Back SRF Gen3 National Championships at the 2019 SCCA Runoffs and finished 2nd in Super Tour points.
Matt Horst highlighted the year with a great 2nd place finish at the ARRC AT Road Atlanta & continues to make great strides in his SRF Gen3.
Bob Gardner set personal bests in almost all the race tracks he competed at this year.
Max Just won the SARRC Championships & the SIC Runoffs
Elizabeth Byerly made her biggest improvements of her racing career (in only her second year of racing).
Chuck Newman race a limited schedule this year and he ran his personal best in a number of races this year.
P1/P2
Darryll Shoff had one 1st place finish and four 2nd place finishes.
Todd Vanacore entered his 1st year of P1 racing and he really came to grips with the car towards the end of the season; finishing the year off with two 1st place finishes at the 2019 Turkey Trot at Sebring.
John McAleer had two wins a second place finish and two 3rd place finishes.
Bill Munholland had three 2nd place finishes.
All 4 Comprent P1 drivers finished in the Top 10 in Super Tour Points.
P1 Highlight: 1,2,3 finish at Watkins Glen Super Tour with all drivers under the track record.
Tray Ayres won the SCCA National Championship in P2 and the Super Tour with a Comprent built SCCA ESR

Todd Vanacore finished 5th in Super Tour points with two 2nd place finishes and a 3rd place finish
Adam Zerlin had two 2nd place finished and a 3rd place finish.
Chet Zerlin had two 3rd place finishes and two 4th places finishes
Ted Thorp had two 2nd place finishes and two 5th place finishes
Paul Schneider continues to compete at the top of the FE2 class after a limited 2019 racing season and had an extremely unlucky break at the SCCA Runoffs (breaking his front wing)
Super Unlimited
James Paul claimed the TT Super Unlimited National Championship and set the fastest time of the weekend at Mid Ohio.
SCCA Runoffs
Comprent P1 cars qualified 3rd, 4th, 5th for the Championship race.
FE: Todd Vanacore finished 8th at the SCCA National Championship after falling back to 20th overall due to the car cutting off momentarily
Clay Russell 1st place national champion after an extremely exciting race in the Spec Racer Ford Gen3 class. Russell won the Runoffs for the 2nd consecutive year.

Comprent converted 7 Formula Enterprises to Formula Enterprises 2 (bringing our FE conversions to a total of 11).
We converted IMSA Lites cars to SCCA P1 Spec cars for Jean-Luc Liverato & Joe Viso.
One of our customers, James & Greg Paul, approached us about building the ultimate Super Unlimited car for the NASA National Championships. After months of working alongside Elan Motor Sports (specifically Chris Smith & Jonathan McLeod) as well as James & Greg Paul, we created the very first turbocharged Elan DP02. Claiming the TT Super Unlimited National Championship and set the fastest time of the weekend at Mid Ohio with James Paul behind the wheel.
